RENAME 'Recycle Bin
1. Start, Run, 'Regedit'.
2. Press 'Ctrl'+'F' to open find box and type 'Recycle Bin' to search.

Tips to recover scratched CD's
1. Spread a cloth on a flat surface and place the CD on it.
2. Then, hold the disc with one hand, use the other to wipe the polish into the affected area with a soft cloth.
3. Wait for it to dry and buff using short, brisk strokes along the scratch, not across it.
4. A cloth sold to wipe spectacles or camera lenses will work super m8's.
5. When you can no longersee the scratch,, wash the disc with water and let it dry before playing. Intersting isnt it? Try it right now
I have used toothpaste with good effects before Ive also used car paint cutting compound on deeper scratches. It does leave lots of smaller scratches (as it is a cutting compound after all) but it will remove the worst scratches in most cases.

Trick is all About :

You can create Virtual Drives in your Computer. Now you can access your Favorite Folders as a drive in My Computer.

What you can do ?

** Access your folders as a Drive !

** Fool 'Computer Beginners' or your 'Friends' (Non-Expert) , as the drive will show Disk Space of the folder's drive so it seems that the disk space has increased !!!

Do The Follwing :

► Start >> Run

► Type cmd and hit Enter

► This will open "Command Prompt"

► Type subst Z: E:\folder and hit Enter key.

→ You can replace Z: with your desired New Drive Letter (Except existing Drive letters)!

→ You can replace E:\folder with the path of your favorite folder !

► Now, type exit

*** This creates a new drive ! When you open this , it will open your folder !!!

*** Isn't it Awesome ?

► File >> Save As...

► Name it : Virtual Drive Emulator.bat

► Start >> All Programs

► Right Click on Startup >> Open

► This open the Startup folder

► Paste the Virtual Drive Emulator.bat file here !

*** That's all , now the drive will automatically be created when ever you start your pc

Open Active Folder in Command Prompt !

What can be done :
** Command prompt can be added to 'Right Click Menu' of each folder.
** Clicking on this will open the folder in cmd prompt.
** Now, the files in that folder can easily be operated.


How to do it :
** Open any folder.
** Tools >> Folder Options...
** Change to File Types
** Select Folder from the list.
** Click Advanced button.
** Now, click New
** Type Command Prompt in Action
** Type cmd.exe in Application used to perform action:
** Now, click OK and Apply

Lock ur folders.
Procedure :
1. Make a folder on the desktop and name it as "folder"
2. Now, open notepad and write ren folder folder.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} and now (Notepad Menu) File>save as.
3. In the 'save as' name it as lock.bat and click save ! (Save it on Desktop)
4. Now, again open notepad again and write ren folder.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} folder and now (Notepad Menu) File>save as.
5. In the 'save as' name it as key.bat and click save ! (Save it on Desktop)
6. Now, double click lock.bat to lock the folder and now if you open your folder, control panel will open up !
7. Now, double click key.bat to open the folder and now if you open your folder, you can access your data inside the folder again !
8. Lock your folder and hide the key.bat somewhere else on your hard disk !
9. Whenever you want to open your folder just paste the key.bat on desktop and open your folder using it !

Trick Advantage :
You can leave your work in between and shutdown the PC and resume it next time as it is !
Even I switched off my PC while writing this article and when I reopened it I resumed my article from where i left !

When you want to stop your work and shutdown(Keeping your programs open)
Do The Following :
1. Click start>Turn Off Computer.
2. As the Turn Off menu comes up press 'Shift' and 'Stand By' changes to 'Hibernate'
3. Click Hibernate (Shift Kept Pressed)

Your xp will save the work and shutdown !

Now, when you switch it on again it will resume it again !

No loading of windows will take place and you will be resumed to your work as if you had just switched your monitor off and now on again !

Its Amazing !

How to make folder private

If you are not the only user on your computer, you can make some forlders private and only when you log in with your username you can see them. This option is only available for folders included in your user profile. Folders in your user profile include My Documents and its subfolders, Desktop, Start Menu, Cookies, and Favorites. If you do not make these folders private, they are available to everyone who uses your computer.
Open My Computer. Then, double-click the drive where Windows is installed (usually it's drive (C:), unless you have more than one drive on your computer). Double-click Documents and Settings folder. Open your user folder. Right-click folder in your user profile you want make private, and then click Properties. On the Sharing tab, select the Make this folder private so that only I have access to it check box. When you make a folder private, all of its subfolders are private as well. For example, when you make My Documents private, you also make My Music and My Pictures private. When you share a folder, you also share all of its subfolders unless you make them private.

Display icons on the desktop without labels

Unfortunately, Windows does not allow deleting the label directly. The operating system rejects empty strings or labels consisting space characters by displaying the message ' Enter a file name' . However, the following trick will help you.

1. Right-click on the desired icon and select the context command 'Rename' or simply press [F2].

2. Keep the key [Alt] pressed and enter the number combination '0160' on the numeric pad of the keyboard.

3. Let go of the [Alt] key and confirm it by pressing [Enter]. The label now disappears.

Facts - Change location of My Documents

I guess many of you don't know about this fact that the storage location of "My Documents" can be changed. Its bit safer , when PC crashes.

Normally windows saves the "My Documents" folder on your C-drive. But when you right-click on it and go to properties, you can change the location where you want windows to save your Documents folder.
I have a partition set up with just windows on it, and all my things i want to keep are on different partitions/disks. So now I put My Documents on another partition than where I have windows installed.If windows screws up and you have to format your C-drive again, your documents will be spared at least...

1. Click Start - Run

# Go to HKEY_CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer.
# On the right window of registry editor, right-click the empty space.
# Choose New - DWORD Value.
# Type the value name "NoLowDiskSpace" and press Enter.

Right-click the new key you've made and choose Modify.

On the Value Data type the number "1".
